St. Louis Association of Community Organizations

St. Louis Association of Community Organizations, commonly known as SLACO by its friends, has been addressing a broad range of issues related to strengthening neighborhoods throughout its 36-year history.

SLACO was established in the late 1970's and incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1978. SLACO is a coalition of neighborhood associations in the metropolitan area. Each neighborhood group addresses the needs and concerns of its residents. While the depth and severity of problems facing neighborhoods vary, many challenges are shared by almost all of our neighborhoods.

Help us enhance the strength and diversity of our capacity for leadership on neighborhood issues. Our membership includes all types of neighborhoods and represents 33 percent of the population of the City of St. Louis. We're looking for our first Metro East and St. Louis County members associations. If you are affiliated with a neighborhood association, please urge it to join.
