At South Creek Community Development Corporation, we are dedicated to eradicating food insecurity in Baltimore's historic Sharp-Leadenhall community and beyond. Join us in our mission to create lasting change and ensure every resident has access to essential resources and support.

OUR STORY

In the heart of South Baltimore, the South Creek Community Development Corporation (South Creek CDC) is transforming lives through their dedication to eliminating food insecurities and improving the health standards for Baltimore residents. Founded in 2012, South Creek CDC has empowered the Sharp Leadenhall Community by providing nutritious meals and fresh produce to hundreds of residents, including veterans, the homeless, and those in public housing. Partnered with the Maryland Food Bank and launching a new "Pantry On The Go," South Creek CDC is addressing community nutritional gaps head-on, bringing essential services to those most in need.

MORE ABOUT OUR MISSION

Food insecurity affects approximately 13.5% of U.S. households, impacting around 18 million people. This issue is even more severe among households with children, with nearly 18% facing food insecurity. Additionally, significant racial disparities exist, as black and brown individuals statistically experience food insecurity at nearly double the rate of white individuals.
