We invite you to share intentionally, regularly and generosity with St. John’s Lutheran Church.
The Pastor’s Discretionary fund is a ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church. The fund is used to help members of the congregation, friends of the congregation and extraordinary needs that come to our attention outside our immediate community.
Examples of help include paying all or part of rents due, Con-Ed, National Grid gas and electric bills, food emergencies, medical bills, health insurance premiums, funeral costs and more.
The funds are used at the sole discretion of Pastor Foster, but an accounting of all expenditures are public and available to anyone who has questions of how the funds are used. However, the names of those who are recipients of the fund are anonymous.
Sharing is a tool God has given to help us move from scarcity to abundance, from fear to faith and from self centeredness to service. When we return a portion of what God has entrusted to us, we are able to do transformative ministries and serve our neighbors.
St. John’s is a great place to share, but the more important thing we invite you to do is to share, somewhere. Try it out, test God.
If being intentional, regular and generous in your sharing makes a difference in your life, then return to the house of your blessings, and share here. We are an open, trustworthy place. Your gifts will be used faithfully and well.
