St. Lydia's is a Dinner Church in Brooklyn. About a year ago, we asked your help to make a place in the city for our church. You stepped up, and gave over $30,000 to help us build our new storefront.
Over the next six months, we’re adding not one, not two, but three brand new services!
Waffle Church will be an active, fun service on Sunday mornings that's geared specifically towards children's participation and leadership.
Vespers will be a service of song, silence, and space on Thursday evenings, creating a quiet and contemplative space in the city.
And a worship experience for babies, toddlers, and their families featuring music, movements, and crafts will be a collaborative venture with lower income residents in our neighborhood.
But we're excited to take on these challenges and create more opportunities to connect with our neighborhood and the community.
and come be part of the circus.
During the month of June, we’re raising $20,000 from supporters like you who want to be bold, be brave, and help us launch this three ring circus.
$50 one-time gift: a vintage circus thank you postcard!
$100 one-time gift: a hand stamped Lydia's notebooks and bookmark (60 available)
$200 one-time gift: a St. Lydia's tote bag
$500 one-time gift: a phone consultation with Emily on your own church planting or church development project

Every week we hear from people around the country who are using the resources on our website or planning visits to our church in order to develop ideas for their own communities at home.
The discoveries we’re making here have a ripple effect through the church, and we’re glad to play a part in the learning that’s taking place around the country.
St. Lydia's annual budget is just under $200,000. The $20,000 we raise will go to all the things we need to keep our doors open, and support our staff. Staff salaries, rent, utilities, and program supplies are all needed ingredients for St. Lydia's to continue to grow! As we expand our worship opportunities, we're expanding our congregation, and increasing our capacity to give.
After moving into our new storefront, we launched a co-working space: a shared office where freelancers and folks who work at home work side by side. In a city where apartments are small, there's a great need for work space as well as a supportive community. Co-workers contribute a donation to work in the space, which supports our operating budget. In time, giving from co-workers, pledges from congregants, and of course support from donors like you will allow us to reach financial sustainability. It takes investment to pull something like this off, and your giving will bring us through the launch year.
Donor giving is an integral part of what makes St. Lydia's go. It's your support that allows us to dream big and diversify as a congregation. We've got Dinner Church. And soon, with your help, we'll have Waffle Church, Vespers, and Children's Church.
We're glad you're so bold, so brave, and building this with us!
