Sad News to Share.....
Our beloved friend, family member, teacher and colleague, Yon Lee, fondly known as Master Lee or Sifu, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6th surrounded by loved ones. He was 74 years young.
His spirit now free and happy, will always be with us. His beloved wife Rita recently had a beautiful comforting dream of seeing him full of light, energy and joy in their kitchen! A big contrast to the increasing physical challenges he was experiencing from his Parkinson's disease in recent years and months.
Yon always felt very happy and blessed by his relationships with his many students, friends, colleagues and family members and was so passionate about martial arts, tai chi, chi gong, healing, teaching, cultural exchanges with China and the Shaolin monks, community service, helping others in need and connecting diverse people for deeper exchanges, understanding and new possibilities. He often reminisced about the past and his adventures over the years especially those he created in his 30 years plus at Harvard, Adams House and with his huge Tai Chi family.
May the many fond memories we each had of him help us keep him alive in our hearts and inspire us to continue his legacy.
A Zoom event will be hosted on Tuesday, January 17th from 7-9:30pm ET https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85053604995 to remember and share stories. In addition, a Celebration of Life program and a dedication of his portrait for his 30 years plus of service and commitment to the Harvard community is being planned around his birthday in March. A private family service will be held.
