Thanks for supporting our team, Moms on a Mission, as we take on the Music City Triathlon this May! Each year, there are 300,000 children diagnosed with this devastating disease, and each dollar raised helps support those developing potentially life-saving treatments. This funding is more important now than ever before, given the large federal funding cuts we have seen hitting cancer research and these patients directly.
As moms, this cause hits close to home, which is why we will be racing with Team Bright Side! We would love your support as we swim, bike, and run to help fight pediatric cancer, because we all know, nothing can stop a Mom on a Mission! Please consider donating and supporting this incredible cause and the badass moms on the team! Meet our team and learn more about why this cause and race is personal to each of us:
Liz Jose (swimmer): Parenting is hard enough with healthy kids; I can only imagine having a child who has cancer, and I want to do my part to help move research and treatment forward on behalf of those who go through it. That’s why I swim. I love our team of incredible women for this cause!
Jessica Patlevic (biker): I am so excited to be back this year and racing with this incredible group of women! My goal this year is simple, raise money to fight pediatric cancer research to in some small way support these children battling such a terrible disease. This cause has meant so much to me over the last 12 years as I have witnessed close family and friends battle cancer and I want to continue making a dent in pediatric cancer research. As a team over the last two years we have raised over $3.2k, I would personally love to round this total to $5k+ this year! As a Nashville team of moms, we have new locals racing with Team Bright Side this year and I couldn't be more proud of these incredible individuals I get to race with! I want to show my daughter that anything is possible when a group of people come together and what better way than through Team Bright Side. We hope you will support us in finding a cure!
Kat Bair (runner): No one was as surprised as I was when I started running in my late 20's, after decades of vocally hating cardio of any kind. I lost my father to cancer in 2019, and running was a way to process my grief; it feels so powerful to be able to utilize running to help support kids afflicted with cancer. I spend most of my days running now, either for fun, or chasing my three-year-old twins (ok that parts pretty fun, too)! I am so grateful to get to team up with Jessica and Liz to help support this amazing cause! I have truly been blown away by the power of moms in community and am so grateful to Jessica for pulling the team together!
