The Lotus is a non-governmental organization founded by students studying in the United States. We have successfully registered our organization in California in August 2022 and have gathered student volunteers based in ten different countries. Our mission is to address and eliminate social issues related to menstruation such as period poverty, period shame, and period stigma.

According to China Social Welfare Foundation, approximately 4 million girls in China between the ages of 12 and 16 have difficulty affording feminine hygiene products, which expose them to numerous physical and mental challenges during menstruation. We believe that every girl is like a budding flower, and the mission of The Lotus is to protect these “florets” as they mature.

The Lotus is committed to provide free menstrual hygiene products to girls in need, educating them about menstruation, and helping them develop a better understanding of their psychological and physical health. We also aim to raise public awareness on menstruation-related issues and gender inequality through our social media platforms.
