In the Tansa Valley, PRASAD Chikitsa supports low-income tribal farmers through the WASH Project (water, sanitation, and hygiene) to overcome the problem of water scarcity, among other issues. PRASAD helps farmers by building wells to ensure a consistent water supply throughout the year.

Why Your Support Matters

In India, the livelihoods of tribal farmers suffer when wells fail – they no longer have a reliable income stream and can become food insecure. In the Tansa Valley, when water is scarce in the summer, farmers with failed wells are forced to look for alternate means of livelihood due to the lack of land under irrigation.

How You Can Make a Difference

In the next year, our goal is to build 9 wells (and in 2023, 12 wells). 

It costs $2,000 to build a well, and any amount makes a difference!
