In India, the livelihoods of tribal farmers suffer when wells fail – they no longer have a reliable income stream and can become food insecure. In the Tansa Valley, PRASAD Chikitsa supports low-income tribal farmers through the WASH Project (water, sanitation, and hygiene) to overcome the problem of water scarcity, among other issues. PRASAD helps farmers by building wells to ensure a consistent water supply throughout the year. This initiative is going to give what is often most needed for food security - a way to give farmers access to water all year around.
