In 2020, Adam was diagnosed with a mast cell disease. With the help of his family, friends, teachers, and an amazing team of specialists he became stable and was determined not to be defined by his disease. Adam passed away of natural causes during his last great adventure, a Florida State University International Programs study abroad class in Croatia and Bosnia on international security in times of conflict. His smile, sweetness, and steadfast desire to share life with everyone around him will never be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to know Adam.

Adam's family wanted to honor his memory by raising funds for the healthcare provider education programs that The Mast Cell Disease Society (TMS) organizes. Thanks to the generosity of Adam's friends and family, TMS was able to put on a complete session of our ProjectECHO HCP Education program. 

 "The Adam Thrasher HCP Education Fund" will continue to collect funds to support TMS efforts in healthcare provider education.

TMS continues to lead the industry world-wide as mast cell disease experts for patients and healthcare providers in partnership with our Medical Advisory Board and the American Initiative for Mast Cell Diseases (AIM). Now more than ever, there is a need for more physicians and healthcare providers to treat our growing patient needs. Investing in healthcare provider education of mast cell diseases is imperative for us to continue the delivery of world-class care to our community.  In light of this,  "The Adam Thrasher HCP Education Fund" will continue to collect funds to support TMS efforts in healthcare provider education. 

The Goals of TMS' HCP Education Programming:
 1. Educate and support medical practitioners on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating mast cell disease
 2. Promote evidence-based and expert guidelines supported by TMS
 3. Improve local access and reduce wait times for patients in need of mast cell disease expertise
 4. Support new local experts to educate others in their communities about mast cell disease
