Campaign Description

Provide New Training Equipment & Scholarships for our Youth Hip Hop Athletes

Who are we?

We are Toma Fit - an Atlanta based non-profit organization cultivating the physical intelligence of children, youth and their families through the movement arts. Our signature Youth Hip Hop Athletes Program uses breakin’ to engage participants in rhythmic movement aligned with the timing and drum patterns of the breakbeat. We bring together the worlds of calisthenics, creative movement and physical education to empower our student’s physical and mental health, positive self-image and work ethic.

How will your donations help?

We're raising $5,000 to provide New Training Equipment & Scholarships for our Youth Hip Hop Athletes!

Toma Fit is committed to providing top-quality training at low-cost rates for families.

Your financial contribution will help us deliver on our goal of getting much needed new training equipment to advance our student's skills as creative movement artists in the art of breakin'.

Our classes are discounted by 70% of market value, and at the same time, some families are unable to cover tuition costs. Your donations also will help keep our classes low-cost, and provide scholarship opportunities to children who would otherwise be unable to attend movement arts classes.

Hitting our goal before January 26th ensures another season of providing top-quality movement arts, breakin' and physical education training at low-cost to our families.

New Year, New Gear!

As a community first, non-profit organization our economic model is a little different. Every quarter, we fundraise to meet our operational needs.

What have we been up to?

  • Our next round of classes kicked off Tuesday, January 12th and culminate March 16th!
  • This December, we joined forces with Umi Feeds, The Rights 2 Life Foundation and Iwi Farm Oasis for our Annual Hope through Hip Hop Holiday Toy Giveaway.
  • By working together, we were able to successfully deliver more than 500 toys to families in Southwest Atlanta, Georgia.
  • In November, we were awarded financial sponsorship to fund the costs of offering a new, and comprehensive youth empowerment workshop to our Southwest Atlanta neighborhood!
  • This November we proudly introduced our most innovative collection of classes to date, deemed, "The Breakin' Ecosystem Master Class."
  • Students participated in interactive workshops on the movement arts such as breakin' and tai chi, cultural innovation and preservation, principles of effective leadership and financial literacy (how to make money work for them).
  • With the help of generous individuals like yourself, small business donations and corporate sponsors, we delivered The Breakin' Ecosystem Intensive Master Class to 12 children and their families at no cost.
  • We were able adequately pay our teaching artists for their time and expertise, and hire local and national teachers of the culture.
  • We provided a healthy breakfast and lunch with vegan and non-vegan options, and encouraged the youth take in lead in our Empowerment Discussion, ask thoughtful questions and speak freely about their concerns and excitement for what their future holds.
