This internship was established to honor Alice Strobel Eadler. Like her mother, Mary Catherine Strobel (for whom Hands On’s Volunteer Awards are named), Alice has spent a lifetime quietly serving others, leading by example, and inspiring those around her to give of themselves without seeking recognition.

Alice always shows up, gives freely, and never asks for anything in return.

This internship was established as a way to ensure that her example of quiet, selfless service continues to make a difference for years to come.

Each summer, a young leader will spend seven weeks at Hands On carrying Alice’s spirit of selfless service forward by recruiting volunteers, connecting them with nonprofit partners, and helping them discover the quiet but profound reward of serving their neighbors.
