THE GUILD & DIGNITY DESIGNED:

AN INSPIRED FUNDRAISER SUPPORTING COMMUNITY NEAR AND FAR!

The Guild is seizing the opportunity to partner with Dignity Designed to fine tune, build, and field test the Dignity Shelter as a modular multi use structure -- while also testing the feasibility of local capacity building and job creation through manufacture in Massachusetts.

This is a very special fundraiser to support a visionary collaboration with local, national, and global reach!

SUPPORT THE GUILD &  DIGNITY DESIGNED:

COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION  |  LOCAL JOBS  | GLOBAL IMPACT

The Guild is thrilled to partner with Dignity Designed, a Cleveland-based hybrid social enterprise leading an effort to house one million people experiencing homelessness or living as refugees. The company is jointly owned by Nottingham Spirk and Peter Middlebrook, an expert on providing care for displaced populations experiencing homelessness globally.

The Shelter, inspired by the design of a Central Asian yurt, will provide people using it with 200 square feet of usable interior space. The Shelter is designed so that multiple units can be clustered together to create larger spaces for community or family use, and the walls and roof of the Shelter can be printed with personalized designs.

YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT WILL ENABLE THE PROTOTYPING & FIELD TESTING OF THE DIGNITY SHELTER & THE FEASIBILITY TESTING OF LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED MANUFACTURE

The Dignity Shelter will provide an opportunity for major positive impact for communities looking to transform themselves in multiple contexts;

  • Provides safe and immediate shelter
  • Provides dignified housing for vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness
  • Temporary solution for people displaced because of conflict or the effects of climate change
  • An innovative modular, single-room structure that can be grouped together for communal living
  • Possible personalization with artistically and culturally printed walls

A HISTORY OF CREATING & SUPPORTING SANCTUARY SPACE!

Founded in 2012, The Guild is a hybrid, multi-sited social and cultural enterprise and cross-sector ecosystem, owned and led by intergenerational people of color (BIPOC), dedicated to wholeness, healing, beauty and prosperity. As a social and cultural movement for wholeness and prosperity, the Guild is grounded first in the concepts of: Venue | Presence | Connection. We create and are present in beautiful venues that come out of the imagination and co-creative power of our local-to-global neighbors in concert with cross-sector partners. Our Sanctuary Spaces provide the generative space for safety, trust, and connection between the multicultural and multilingual members of our global community. Once connection and trust are established, capacity building, healing and business development can take place.

Our action shifts power, improves quality of life, creates shared assets, holds space for culture, healing, art, and connection, and catalyzes systems and policy change. With over a decade of experience transforming blighted space into beautiful Sanctuaries for healing, creative expression, and capacity building, our local-to-global ecosystem of neighbors own the strategies and means of community transformation. As we continue to expand our cross sector partnerships and global collaborations, such as our collaboration with the Akodi Shrine of Ile’ Ife’, Nigeria, and the Sanctuary Development Project, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, we are proud to partner with Dignity Designed to increase our positive impact and reach.
