For kids in underserved neighborhoods, education about and access to healthy choices is a challenge. United Way's fitUnited initiative and P3R are partnering to bring Project R.U.N. (Reaching Underserved Neighborhoods) to schools and after-school programs across Pittsburgh. Project R.U.N. reduces the barriers to wellness opportunities in underserved neighborhoods by providing participating children with weekly coaching and bi-weekly nutrition education, leading up to the Toyota Pittsburgh Kids Marathon in May. We need your help to make sure every child gets to the finish line!
$65 will sponsor a child, and they will receive a pair of new running shoes, race registration and supplies for nutrition education.
$35 will buy a pair of new running shoes for a child so that they can keep up the healthy habit after the race.
