We lost access to the beach for rides in September 2021, our primary revenue source. As a result, our fiscal resources are nonexistent, and we can no longer care for our lovely horses who depend on us. Most of our horses need medical care that is not available on St Thomas. We are fortunate to have connected with a rehabilitation center in Florida, Dark Horse Stables, who is willing to provide rehab as well as new homes for our horses who need and deserve a better life. Most of our 19 horses need to be rehomed. Six of the herd have the opportunity to begin their journey next Wednesday, Feb 23. The total cost of their voyage to Puerto Rico and then to Florida after quarantine is $29,532. We are asking for your help to get these horses off island next week. Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare, a 501c3 horse rescue in Puerto Rico, is assisting in the movement and rehoming process.
